Yea!! It’s a girl!! Monica and Lenny’s great expectation has safely arrived. Her name is Hayden and she’s precious. Her parents kept her name and gender a secret until the baby shower a few weeks before she was born. And they wanted to avoid the stereotypes about what colors girls should wear and how their room should be decorated, etc, etc. Thus the uber-cool interior design of Hayden’s room. Well, here she is! Cute, huh?

Today I had the honor of photographing little Prestian! It wasn’t exactly in my plans though! His mom, Benjy, had scheduled maternity portraits with me for yesterday morning. But the day before, she gave birth! So instead of doing maternity portraits on Wednesday in the studio, we had newborn portraits on Thursday in the hospital. He came a little bit early but babies don’t consult us anyway. Isn’t he delicious? This first shot was Benjy’s idea–ingenious!

Hey! I went to Maryland to photograph Monica and Lenny who are expecting their first child. Very exciting! We are actually doing a series from Pregnancy until the baby turns one year old. This is one of the options in my Fearfully, Wonderfully collection. So anyway, I get there look around the house for cool spots for portraits while Monica gets her makeup done. Her friend Ja Nina is a professional makeup artist in NYC who does great work for individual clients and for film, television, and print. Here are some of my faves!

This was such a fun session! This family participated in a fund-raising auction to benefit a school. They really wanted portraits of their children, particularly the newest addition. It was wonderful to capture them at home in their familiar surroundings–children seem to prefer it. In any case, it was nice to donate my time and talent for a local school. Aren’t the boys so cute?! ![]()
