First Fabulous Five Years, part 1

First of all, Happy Fifth Anniversary to Jessi + Cesar! Yep, they got married five years ago and played a huge role in launching wendy g photography. It’s kinda ironic how I ended up as their wedding photographer. I gave their friend Treg, who was an artist and painter (now Missions Director at Times Square Church) my postcard. He gave it to Jessi + Cesar. I gave my friend Jane, who owns an art gallery, my postcard and she gave it to Jessi + Cesar. With two people telling them about me, they decided to give me a call. I remember meeting with them at the Au Bon Pain near my apartment (which has since closed) and showing them a collection of 8×10s in a portfolio. When they told me the date for their wedding my heart sank. Why? Because over the prior 3 years, I’d become a NYC Ballet fan/snob. Season tickets with an awesome seat at the Lincoln Center had become huge with me. And I had the best.seat.in.the.house to see a ballet called Coppelia for June 26, 2004. And that ticket cost me a lot of money! I actually needed to pray about whether or not I’d shoot their wedding. Well, The Lord let me know that ballet and my best.seat.in.the.house had become too huge to me. It was just wrong…. So I photographed their wedding and haven’t looked back! Adding to the awesomeness was the publication of their wedding photographs in The Knot magazine! How cool is that?! And people are still contacting me after seeing that “Real Wedding” feature online.

So, together we celebrate the First Fabulous Five Years. Thanks Jessi + Cesar and Happy Anniversary!
