Vacation

I’ll be on vacation from Friday 6/27 until Tuesday 7/8 for some much needed rest. I’ll only take care of a few prior commitments and do some blogging. So….. wendy g photography will be closed from June 27th through July 8th.

All print orders and new album orders will not go into production until I return from vacation. If your album is already in production, things will resume after July 8th.

If you’re inquiring about your wedding, please submit your information via my website’s “availability” page and you’ll receive a response.

I thank you for your patience and will be in touch when I get back!

06.21.08 Nathalee + Dexter Engaged

This is Nathalee and Dexter. They’re getting married THIS WEEK. Whew! We did these portraits just in time. We’d planned on doing them sooner but scheduling was not easy….. But as you can see, photographing them was. The time really breezed on by as we made our way through a 3 block radius in the Meatpacking District. And in case you’re wondering, despite all the Chichi stores that have moved in, it’s still the MEATpacking district. (I think I almost slipped on some tallow somewhere down there….. but that’s for another post). For some reason these two remind me of a 1940’s, film noir, crime solving duo. Did anyone see that movie? ;-) I sure did…..

Server Disruption, Maintenance

MY APOLOGIES FOR ANYONE WHO EMAILED ME OR TRIED TO VIEW MY WEBSITE OR BLOG! My server host had a disruption that intermittently lasted about 18 hours. This meant that my website, blog, and email were unavailable intermittently during that time. Everything is A-Okay now. If you emailed me and didn’t hear back, please resend your message.

Wedding at Dante Caterers

06.14.08 Patience + Christian

Christian patience…. that’s all I can say.
This wedding was very exciting for me! I remember running into Christian two years ago and he was carrying a bouquet of flowers. I asked for whom….. he said, “Patience.” “So is Patience your girlfriend?” “Well, I don’t like the term ‘girlfriend’; but she is the ONE!” I liked that…. And so now I have the honor of being their wedding photographer! It doesn’t get much better than this! The entire day just got sweeter and sweeter as things progressed. During the ceremony one woman or another just broke out into spontaneous thanksgiving and praise in song. It was so beautiful! And because Patience is from Ghana and Christian is from Nigeria, it was a really cool blending of their families as well. Here are a few of my faves……. :-)
(I took a bit more artistic liberty with this blog post. Since Christian is a gifted filmmaker, I knew they’d dig it. For some reason the Ole’ Skool Black and White just did it for me……)

06.07.08 Robin and Joe Engaged

We sure had fun–the time seemed to fly! And since we started very early in the morning we were able to beat the heat (of the 4-day heatwave). We set out for Washington Square Park but as soon as we got there we discovered that most of the park was fenced off while construction and digging took place. Oh well! We just moved throughout the surrounding streets instead. I like the way they had coordinating but not matching outfits too. That’s really cool. And I particularly like the combination of orange and pink–just me personally. Robin’s mom wants a photo like yesterday, so I hope she likes these!;-) Thanks Robin and Joe; I’m so psyched about your wedding this September!

Wedding at Beekman Tower Hotel

06.01.08 Drew + Angela

What an elegant wedding! Drew and Angela held their nuptials at the classic art deco Beekman Tower Hotel. The Top of The Tower has beautiful 360 degree views of the city from 26 stories up. All the family and friends were almost giddy with joy over their union! There was such a feeling of warmth there. And I love how Angela chose a slightly retro 1950’s glamor style. Her hair and makeup artists, Petra of Salon 56 and Lilly Rivera of BridalGal , did a wonderful job! Drew and Angela happen to be huge jazz fans and the Piers Lawrence Quartet is one of their favorites. These guys really know their stuff! Standards, ballads….. even an interpretation of a Led Zeppelin song! And once again it was great working with the filmmakers of First Love Video. They’re so unobtrusive and discrete–I love it!
If you see this lovely couple walking down the street tell them that wendy g says they’re beautiful, inside and out!

05.26.08 Natalia + Angel Engaged

So after much ado, Natalia and Angel are just weeks away from their wedding day! It has been such a pleasure getting to know them over the last 18 months. When they get married I feel like I’ll gain a brother and a sister. Is there such a thing as lateral adoption? Hmmmmm……… Their dog Maximus was there during the shoot. He’s totally trained and smart and cool and …. he knows it! He really is a good dog too! And he let me call him Massimo which is what Natalia calls him. We stopped for icecream in the middle of the shoot and it was JUST FOR ME! I could hardly believe these two wanted me to have some icecream. It was great. Here are some of my favorites…… :-)
