Wedding in The Dominican Republic

04.19.08 Belinda + Tyrone

Yea! I’m back and have put together a slideshow of Belinda and Tyrone’s wedding in the Dominican Republic. I had a blast with them and their guests. I’m sure they set a record for the most guests at a destination wedding–134! I know! It was awesome that so many people love them and made it to their away wedding. Family, high school friends, college friends, friends from work, etc, etc. Beautiful! Here are a few of my faves. I really like the color combination of blue and orange (they’re complimentary colors–remember from that art class you took in college?) So Belinda and Tyrone had selected orange for the color theme. And the location had such rich, beautiful blue skies and a deep turquoise blue water. Can you say “Eye candy”?

I was so concerned about my photography responsibilities I only forgot ONE thing. You guessed it! I forgot my swimsuit! ;-) and what’s so funny is that I have SEVERAL. Oh well. It didn’t slow me down one bit. Tyrone and Belinda were just as ambitious as me and we agreed to do some portraits of them the next morning at 6am. They had beautiful African inspired outfits that were their second outfits on the wedding day. So we decided to incorporate those in our “day after” portrait session.
Thanks Belinda and Tyrone! I’m still in awe that you brought me all the way to Bayahibe, Republica Dominicana to photograph your very special wedding!

Destination: Wedding

Hey ya’ll!
I’m in the Dominican Republic for a wedding! I’m so excited! It’s beautiful here and very tranquil. Everyone I know from here has been telling me that I’ve GOT to come and here I am. And for a wedding to boot!

I’ve been thinking about it all lately and all I can say is that God has been very good to wendy g.

So if you’d like a “good friend” who knows her way around a camera to photograph your away wedding–consider wendy g. I’ll be there with you before the wedding to strategize, answer your questions, do your engagement portraits. On the wedding day, you know what to expect in terms of style and flexibility. And I’ll also be there after the wedding to design your albums, help with thank you cards, etc. I can support you throughout the entire process.

Bringing your photographer to your destination wedding is really a clever thing to do!

Check the blog later for a sneak peak!

Hayden

Yea!! It’s a girl!! Monica and Lenny’s great expectation has safely arrived. Her name is Hayden and she’s precious. Her parents kept her name and gender a secret until the baby shower a few weeks before she was born. And they wanted to avoid the stereotypes about what colors girls should wear and how their room should be decorated, etc, etc. Thus the uber-cool interior design of Hayden’s room. Well, here she is! Cute, huh? ;-)
