Deluxe Albums

Okay, I currently have two offerings in this category of albums which are priced exactly the same. The Classic Black Matted Album has a custom layout, black cover with an inset photograph, black mats, and black metal corners. Matted Album American Classic has one image per side and comes in a large selection of leather covers, can have black or white mats, a liner around the image in either black, white, silver, or gold. The one shown here has a caramel colored distressed leather cover with blind embossing of the couple’s name, white mats, and a silver liner around each 8×10 image. Here are some close-ups…..

My Friend Poncho

Hey, I’m taking care of my neighbors’ fish, Poncho, while they are on vacation. He’s so cute! He’s a small tropical-looking fish (I don’t know what breed). He’s got huge red appendages and a dark maroon colored body. I feed him some little fish-food pellets (just 5 each morning). And in the morning when I first wake up and go over to his bowl, he starts swimming around wildly! If he were a dog, he’d be wagging his tail. But since he’s a tropical fish, I guess he’s wagging his whole body!? He sits in the window sill right next to my desk and watches me work on the computer. I call him, “Ponchito!” and he loves it! :-) Having little Ponchito here makes me want to get a puppy. I really want a little cockapoo (cocker spaniel-poodle mix). While growing up my grandmother had a cute little black cockapoo named Love. He was so sweet. Anyway, I’m probably too busy for a puppy at this time. A few weeks with Ponchito will have to suffice…….

You Cannot Talk To Me!

Okay, so ever since I got my cute, new iPod Nano, YOU CANNOT TALK TO ME!! But why? Is it because I am now suddenly very cool, and hip, and urbane? Or is it because I just can’t hear you with my music being so loud? Most of you already know the answer to this one….. my music is just plain TOO LOUD. But I love my little nano! Right now my favorite songs recently downloaded from iTunes: “Your Love Is Deep” sung by Jami Smith, “Majesty (Here I Am)” sung by Delirious, and “Mighty To Save” sung by Hillsong. ;-)

Ole’ Skool Matted Album–Like “A Little Black Dress”

So here’s the story of this Classic Black Matted Album……….

Last summer at a get-together with some other photographers, I saw this kinda cool, old-school style matted album. It was all black, with black metal corners and edges. It was simple. Maybe the old-school stylin’ struck a retro vibe in me. Maybe the fact that wedding albums in homes all over the world look a lot like this stirred my heart. I don’t know. I’m a total fan of the modern, chichi matted albums. But there’s just something about this one…… Here are images of one that I made for one of my clients. ;-)

Wedding at the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City

09.08.07 Monique + Greg

Yea! The day is finally here! Monique and Greg have planned an elegant, simple affair not far from home. In fact, they got married at the very same Catholic church where they met. Afterwards, the reception was at the Hyatt Regency right on the Hudson in Jersey City. I really like the modern, mid-century design and styling there. It makes it so much more interesting than a typical hotel banquet space. And the views! Gorgeous! Three sides looking out onto the water and the lower Manhattan skyline. I’d been here before at night and it’s just as spectacular. There was a some confusion over who was prettier—Monique or one of her sisters? I knew right away—Monique, of course! ;-) Everyone came together for this wedding despite the recent passing of a family member. There were tears of joy mixed with some sadness. I pray for God’s consolation for them all; and that Monique and Greg’s marriage will be a blessing. XOXO, wg

07.26.07 Sabat Family

This was such a fun session! This family participated in a fund-raising auction to benefit a school. They really wanted portraits of their children, particularly the newest addition. It was wonderful to capture them at home in their familiar surroundings–children seem to prefer it. In any case, it was nice to donate my time and talent for a local school. Aren’t the boys so cute?! :-)
