What, you wonder, does the couple on the left have to do with the child on the right?

Well potentially, A WHOLE LOT! To help one of my favorite charitable organizations, ChildCry, I’ve begun a very special offer. ChildCry is a daily feeding program for 4,044 children in 23 countries throughout the world. Wedding couples hiring me who give a tax deductible charitable donation to ChildCry receive TWICE that amount off of their wedding photography package. For example, a donation of $250 to ChildCry qualifies for $500 off your wedding photography package.
I photographed the couple on the left on their wedding day in June 2007. I photographed the child a month later in Burundi.
Burundi is just one of those 23 countries……..
This is what you do:
1 - Make your charitable donation to ChildCry via their secure website
2 - Present your receipt to wendy g photography.
3 - VoilĂ ! You’ll be credited twice that amount (up to $750) for your wedding photography package.
AWESOME!! Together we’ll be making an important contribution to the life of a child.
Oh! And one more AWESOME THING!
100% of your donation will be used to feed the children! 100%!
ChildCry’s operating costs come from elsewhere…….
I hope you’re diggin’ this like I am!

First of all, Happy Fifth Anniversary to Jessi + Cesar! Yep, they got married five years ago and played a huge role in launching wendy g photography. It’s kinda ironic how I ended up as their wedding photographer. I gave their friend Treg, who was an artist and painter (now Missions Director at Times Square Church) my postcard. He gave it to Jessi + Cesar. I gave my friend Jane, who owns an art gallery, my postcard and she gave it to Jessi + Cesar. With two people telling them about me, they decided to give me a call. I remember meeting with them at the Au Bon Pain near my apartment (which has since closed) and showing them a collection of 8×10s in a portfolio. When they told me the date for their wedding my heart sank. Why? Because over the prior 3 years, I’d become a NYC Ballet fan/snob. Season tickets with an awesome seat at the Lincoln Center had become huge with me. And I had the best.seat.in.the.house to see a ballet called Coppelia for June 26, 2004. And that ticket cost me a lot of money! I actually needed to pray about whether or not I’d shoot their wedding. Well, The Lord let me know that ballet and my best.seat.in.the.house had become too huge to me. It was just wrong…. So I photographed their wedding and haven’t looked back! Adding to the awesomeness was the publication of their wedding photographs in The Knot magazine! How cool is that?! And people are still contacting me after seeing that “Real Wedding” feature online.
So, together we celebrate the First Fabulous Five Years. Thanks Jessi + Cesar and Happy Anniversary!

PS: It was Jessi + Cesar’s idea that we do some portraits of them with this graffiti/mural in the background. Still one of my favorite images!
I just found out about Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett’s deaths. I used to be fans of them both, especially Michael. He was so ubiquitous…… at a recent wedding I commented that it seems like every DJ plays Michael’s music…… and all the guests love it! Who doesn’t know his songs? Thriller, Ebony and Ivory, We Are The World, I’ll Be There……. Maybe somebody on the other side of the moon. And Farrah was extremely famous. People refer to them both as “icons”; but what’s an icon anyway? A representative symbol of something……. So what do these guys represent?
It’s so sad when celebrities (those people that we celebrate) are hounded by tragedy. Life-controlling habits, excessive dieting, performance-enhancing substances, divorce, drunk driving, infidelity, estrangement from family, stalkers, financial mismanagement, depression, suicide, excessive plastic surgery, legal problems…… How painful! Being a celebrity could be considered bad for one’s health.
I’m just praying for Michael and Farrah’s families and fans.
This is 8×8 with one image per side. White or Black mats are available.

Yea! Sylvia and Aaron got married on a beautiful June day. They gathered with their most intimate family and friends at the Jefferson Market Garden and then headed to Morandi to eat. Greenwich Village is their favorite place to hang out and we were able to pass by some of their all-time favorite spots. I love that Sylvia made her own timeless wedding gown. It was gorgeous! And her bouquet was especially made for her by a dear friend. How sweet!
Here are a few of my favorites……
